Established at the end of 2014 at Süleyman Demirel University, Isparta province, the Community of Ottoman Turkish has continuously organized Ottoman Turkish courses in cooperation with Hayrat Foundation. Since it was founded, the community provided free Ottoman Turkish courses to more than one thousand university students.
Being active in Süleyman Demirel University, the community of Ottoman Turkish is the first student organization established with this name in Turkey. It determined its aim as “taking responsibility in teaching and popularizing this written language origin of which goes back to more than a thousand years ago and which is a means of transferring our cultural heritage.”
Opening new courses for new students, the community, at the same time, teaches the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th modules for the students who have already finished the 1st one. Lots of students who have finished all the four modules had a right to get formal certificates.
Moreover, foreign students from tens of countries such as Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Macedonia, Montenegro, Turkmenistan, and Kazakhstan, also show interest to free Ottoman Turkish courses.
This situation encourages the community even more which started its activity with the motto “building strong bridges from past to present.”
In this respect, the Community of Ottoman Turkish emphasizes that it will continue its courses and activities of teaching Ottoman Turkish without slowing down.
