As a nation and ummah, we are on the eve of a very important election. We are going to an election that will deeply affect the whole world with its results, especially the Islamic world, as well as our country, Türkiye.
Without forgetting that even one vote is very valuable under these conditions, we will vote for the well-being of our nation and the ummah, by thinking about how the victims will be affected in this innocent geography that has pinned their hopes on our country.
This election is not just a matter of political preference! We are of the opinion that acting with simple and personal calculations or abstaining from voting in this critical election will require moral responsibility.
Another very important issue is that in the current presidential system, the President must be supported by a strong, fast and harmonious parliamentary majority.
Otherwise, we must not forget that staying neutral at such milestone will mean supporting the opposition.
As a result, May 14 is not a day to break up, dispute with one another or abstain from voting; it is time to ensure the alliance of the people hand in hand, shoulder to shoulder. We, as the Students of Risale-i Nur of the Hayrat Foundation community, declare once again that we stand by our “native and national” President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan – whom we see as “an accepted dua of the nation” – and the People’s Alliance.
We pray that Allah will make these upcoming elections beneficial for our homeland, nation and the ummah.
